The Maine Student Book Award (MSBA) is given annually to an outstanding children’s book that was published the previous year. The list of eligible books includes realistic fiction, poetry, fantasy, humor, sports, historical fiction, mystery, biography, and folklore. The winner is selected by participating Maine students in grades 4-8. Students who have read three or more of the nominees are eligible to vote. Here are Carl J. Lamb School, we encourage everyone in grades 4-6 to try reading some of the MSBA nominees. After reading one of the books, you should fill out a slip (available at the circulation desk), telling us the title of the book, your name, and possibly a comment. We add your information to CJL’s special MSBA blog: http://msba.edublogs.org/. (You can comment on the blog directly, if you prefer.) Once you read and record three books, you are eligible to vote for your favorite in March. You are also invited to have your photo taken and displayed on posters promoting reading. The posters are displayed around the school for all to see. Let’s get reading!
