Miss Davis, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Sylvestre, and Mrs. Dupere’s kindergartners listened to two Chickadee Award nominees this week. After
hearing Ivan: the Remarkable True Story of the Shopping Mall Gorilla by Katherine Applegate and Dragon’s Extraordinary Egg by Debi Gliori, the children voted for their favorite nominee. Votes were recorded and the students were given their Chickadee Award booklets to take home.
Mrs. Sturtevant’s second graders and Mrs. Allaire’s third graders listened to their final Chickadee book this 
week: Dragon’s Extraordinary Egg by Debi Gliori. Before voting for their favorite, the students reviewed the ten nominees. It was hard for many to decide which title is the best!
In order to meet the Chickadee Award voting deadline, McCall and Mrs. Cote pitched in and finished reading nominees to their students. Their students voted for their favorite Chickadee Award book and their votes were recorded with all the others. Only one class left to vote before the totals are reported to the Chickadee Award Committee!
