This week’s challenge was an estimation contest. A large jug was filled with 8,215 aluminum pull tabs. No one guessed the exact amount, but third grader Gavin’s estimate of 8,041 was the closest. Great job estimating, Gavin!
We thank the many students and teachers who collected the pull tabs for us. The tabs will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Portland. We also thank our fourth grade volunteers for counting the tabs. Since they counted them in groups of 100, they never knew to the total amount.
