Mrs. Margoles’ class participated in another author study during their Friday visit. This time they discussed the books by Bill Martin, Jr. The children are familiar with Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and its companions (Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What Do You See?; Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You See?; and Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You Hear?) as well as Martin’s alphabet book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. This week, the students listened to two other books by Bill Martin, Jr.: Barn Dance! and The Ghost-Eye Tree. Like all of the author’s books, these two demonstrate Bill Martin’s love of rhyme, rhythm, and repetition.
