Third grade library unit

Mrs. (Rizzo) Parnham’s third graders completed their library unit last week.  They learned that when they do research, they must give credit to the creator of any creative work they use.  Their last two lessons focused on music and images found on the internet.

Mrs. Patrick’s class participated in all five lessons on the same unit last week.  Each day the students visited the library to learn how to credit artists for their paintings, authors for their books, performing artists for their songs, and photographers for their images on the internet.  Like the other third grade classes, this group completed a booklet to document their learning.  The students were given their booklets to take home and share with their families.

Mrs. Dillane’s kindergartners had their last class on Wednesday.  Dinosaurs were Danny & Dinosaurthe theme of their final storytime.  The children helped to recite “Five Little Dinosaurs Jumping on the Bed” before listening to the informational book Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs by Byron Barton and Lynn Plourde’s funny picture book Dino Pets.  Next the kindergartners viewed the video based on Danny and the Dinosaur  by Syd Hoff.  The visit ended with a participatory chant called “Dinosaur Dance.”
