Dino time!

Last week storytime for Mrs. McCall’s class featured dinosaurs!  The children helped to recite the rhyme “Five Little Dinosaurs Jumping on the Bed” as Mrs. Miliano used props to act out the story on the white board.   Next the children listened to two dinosaur stories:  How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night? by Jane Yolen and If the Dinosaurs Came Back by Bernard Most.  Then the children stretched and moved as Mrs. Miliano chanted the rhyme “Dinosaur Dance.”  A video of the story Danny and the Dinosaur by Syd Hoff followed. Last, the children got to see Mrs. Carlisle’s casting of a real dinosaur footprint.  When they compared the size of their feet to that of the carnivore Dilophosaurus, the children discovered the dinosaur’s foot was much bigger!

Good library habit recognized

Mrs. Carlisle’s kindergartners filled their book return chart just in time!  The class earned their 100th sticker last week.  Each child received a stick of sidewalk chart as a thank-you for being a responsible library user.
