Last library competition for 2009-2010

The last library competition of the year was an estimation contest.  Participants had to guess how many plastic caps were in the jug.  There were a total of 243 caps and sixth grader Cody guessed the exact amount! How fitting that Cody should win the last contest of the year and his last contest at CJL.

Ocean explorations

PebbleGo-logoMrs. McCall’s students are learning about ocean animals.  During their library visit this week, Mrs. Miliano introduced the online animal database PebbleGo.  Together the children learned about some ocean animals by listening to short informational articles being read aloud and by viewing the brief videos of animals in action.  Once they returned to their classroom, the children continued to use the database to learn about more ocean animals.
