Videoconference

Runaway BunnyOn April 12th, Mrs. Bemis’ first graders participated in their first videoconference using the school’s Tandberg equipment.  The children connected with a third grade student at Emerson School who performed the book The Runaway Bunnyby Margaret Wise Brown.  To prepare for the presentation, the third grader worked on reading the book fluently.  He also made props to indicate how he visualized the story events.  The first graders enjoyed the presentation and the videoconference experience.

Have you ever heard of a farmer duck?

Farmer DuckKindergarten storytime featured ducks again this week.  The children practiced singing the story/song “Five Little Ducks” before listening to the picture book Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell.  After the story, the children used the puppets they had made last week to act out “Five Little Ducks.”  Each student had a turn to play the role of Mother Duck, Father Duck, or one of the five ducklings.  The performances caused everyone to quack up!
