New Big Books!

We have some new big books in the collection.  They are perfect for shared reading!

Other additions include the fluency intervention big books (one per theme) and two curriculum-related big books:  Graph It!  for first grade and Life in the Rain Forest  for second grade.  Come check out the extra large versions today!

Additions to the Guided Reading Collection

The Rigby PM Stars collection was purchased this summer.  The books (Guided Reading Levels A-H) are currently being processed.  Some of the new titles feature familiar characters:

Baby Bear  Little Chimp

The Rigby PM Plus Orange books (GRL I)

and Rigby PM Gold Tales and Plays (GRL L-M)were also purchased.

How would you describe your family?

Click here for larger image.When line drawings of her family don’t really describe what the people (and pets) are like, the narrator tries words instead.  She uses similes to describe each member of her family and the results are hilarious!  After reading the picture book My Dog is as Smelly as Dirty Socks by Hanoch Piven, you may want to try describing your family in the same wacky way!
